Yanmar Europe donates generators to Turkey

February 28, 2023
Yanmar Europe B.V.

On 6 February, a devastating earthquake hit Turkey and Syria and shocked the world. When there is so much damage, pain and sorrow, any support and help is more than welcome. Yanmar Europe sympathizes with those affected and offers some relief with the help of Yanmar Turkey Makine, our subsidiary in Turkey.

The aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey is disheartening. As little as we can do, we immediately took the initiative to provide some kind of support to help people in the region. With the help of our Turkish subsidiary, who launched relief activities themselves, Yanmar Europe donated eight YDG 5500 diesel generators to the AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Agency), which is a legal organization of the Turkish state.

Mustafa Kemal ERDOĞAN SHOSHI, President of Yanmar Turkey, expressed his gratitude to Yanmar Europe, saying, “Turkey has been going through difficult times with ten cities and millions of people affected by the massive earthquakes. As Yanmar Turkey, we have taken actions to support the earthquake zone from the first day and will continue our efforts to help create an optimistic future for the impacted people with Yanmar’s vision. I am touched by the solidarity and immediate support we have received from Yanmar Europe. Thank you very much. Turkish authorities are grateful for the generators donated, which will be used in temporary accommodation zones and many other areas in the future.”

We hope these small and quiet power sources can bring some relief to this desperate situation. Our thoughts and hearts are with all those who are affected, have lost loved ones and are materially destitute.
