Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)’s latest tactical measures to boost sales for the future were unveiled and put into motion at a key event held at the capital of Maldives on Apr 12 this year. The convention hosted several major players in the marine industry from all over Asia, with Guest of Honor Dr. Syed Shamin, the local Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture, gracing the event.

More than a hundred guests from distinguished companies were in attendance, including representatives from reputable companies such as Suzuki Outboard and Caterpillar Tractors. Delegates from Yanmar Asia (YASC) were also present at the event to lend their support.

MTCC is a widely known and trusted company in the Maldives, engaging in various businesses and extensive projects. The company’s far-reaching influence is apparent with MTCC being the largest transport service provider in the Maldives, catering to 7 million people annually. Since the first Yanmar engine installation in the 1970s, MTCC has been aggressively promoting the brand. Yanmar currently enjoys a 70% market share in the Maldives.

At the convention, MTCC revealed their new instalment scheme for fishermen. Under this scheme, they will be able to make a 50% down payment while mortgaging their existing Dhonis1 and make the balance payments over an installment plan of two years. With this step, MTCC hopes to make Yanmar more affordable and overcome the onslaught of cheaper alternatives.
