Manchester United Stadium place to be for YANMAR Energy Systems' Open Day

Late October, YANMAR Energy Systems organized an Open Day to introduce YANMAR to new potential customers in the United Kingdom. In various seminars and meetings HVAC professionals, consultants and engineers learned about YANMAR as a company, GHP technology, HVAC, energy efficiency, and examples from the field.

Presentations on Eli Lilly and air tightness testing

Cross Group, YANMAR's partner for Ireland and the UK, presented a technical talk on the recently completed Kuehne & Nagel project, in which a revolutionary combination of YANMAR & Sintra technology is used for storage and distribution of Eli Lilly's pharmaceutical products. The case study demonstrates how a large building with high ceilings can be temperature controlled accurately and efficiently, while still achieving significant savings in investment and operational costs. Also present was L&F Solutions who gave an interesting talk on air tightness testing for commercial buildings.

On Old Trafford grounds

The Stretford Suite at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground, proved to be the excellent venue for the day, providing all the support, facilities and arrangements for breakfast, lunch and refreshments necessary. There was a lot of YANMAR promotion around with banners, advertising displays and a YANMAR tractor on the pitch, and a gift bag for each participant. A former Manchester United player was invited for a Q&A session, and after lunch, participants took part in a tour of the ground. We also had a visit from the Yanmar HQ Brand & Promotion team, who happened to be in Manchester at the time. Mrs Kubota-san, Kato-san and their colleagues from Dentsu called in at the event.

…and some sports

At the end of the Open Day, a small group of delegates participated in a clay pigeon shooting event at a nearby gun club, organized by L&F Solutions. The next day, we invited a group of YANMAR customers to attend the Premier League's match between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, where we saw Man Utd's Anthony Martial beat the Spurs with 1-0 with a late, but very important goal.
