What are you going to do?
As our new Product Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for gathering and sharing information, implementing compliance measures, and performing internal audits, including possible countermeasures.
You will participate in industry association working groups advocating for EU regulations and share knowledge within and outside Yanmar. Getting to know the right people in different layers and disciplines within and outside Yanmar is one of the keys to success.
Your tasks will include monitoring, interpreting, and advising on product compliance, integrating compliance into processes, tools, packaging, and products, and resolving issues and challenges.
To do this thoroughly, you start by overviewing all regulations that apply to Yanmar’s product landscape. From thereon, you make a roadmap. Fortunately, you are not alone. You take over the tasks of the manager, who acts as your sparring partner and introduces you to the network.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Monitors, interprets, and advises on product related Laws & Regulations impacting Yanmar Europe B.V.’s product portfolio;
- Stays updated on regulatory changes and participates in relevant external parties to ensure compliance;
- Embeds product compliance into existing or new processes and tools, and proactively identifies and resolves compliance related issues;
- Executes internal compliance audits and provides guidance and training to internal stakeholders on product compliance subjects;
- Contact for product notifications, approvals, and quality testing results with government and regulatory agencies;
- Manages and maintains product compliance data and documentation (e.g. SCIP database), drives data improvements, and ensures accessibility for relevant stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?
The ideal Product Compliance Specialist is a strong communicator with a technical background.
You will be in contact with many different types of people. Assessing existing and new draft regulations, sharing knowledge externally, and consulting with internal teams are vital responsibilities. Analytical and investigative skills and understanding complex theoretical relationships are essential for decision-making.
You should be able to adapt to the evolving regulatory environment and be willing to develop the role further due to the constantly changing.
The ideal candidate:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in relevant technical education (e.g. mechanical or industrial engineering, automotive);
- Minimum 3 -5 years of relevant work experience in a B2B environment, with technical insight and affinity;
- Knowledge of / experience in product regulations and compliance, preferably relevant to off-highway equipment and relevant regulatory requirements;
- Proficient in interpreting regulations and standards, simplifying complex information, multitasking, and effectively communicating product requirements to stakeholders.
- The following (mindset) qualities apply to you: flexible, hands-on, customer interest focused, attention to detail, collaborative, solution-focused, analytical;
- Fluent in both spoken and written English, additional language is an asset.
Work location:
Your regular workplace is Almere, but hybrid working (40% home/60% office) is possible in this position.
