What are you going to do?
In this position, you are a Global YMI Sales department member. As a Sales Account Manager Distributors, you will work in an enthusiastic international team that strives to deeply understand customer needs and provide the best solutions, products, and services.
You will be responsible for supporting the development of sales quotes, proposals, and presentations. You will maintain close contact with the Back Office team to ensure timely and correct delivery. You will assist in setting up activity programs under departmental guidelines for your specific sales type area or region.
Your role also includes frequent calls and visits to existing and potential international distributors, where you will discuss their revenue, forecasts, possible orders, ordering frequency, delivery conditions, and quality requirements.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Enhanced customer care through proactive and responsive communication and regular visits, and build a long-term relationship
- Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and/or solutions
- Support in developing sales and marketing plans and strategies to protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with targeted customers
- Maintain close contact with the Back Office to ensure timely and correct order delivery
- Assist in setting up activity programs for specific sales areas
- Review and report on customer retention, business opportunities, and market trends
- Investigate complaints and shipments, propose follow-ups, resolve problems, and ensure customers receive high-quality service
- Support with analysing and summarising data and trends for accurate sales and inventory planning
- Participate actively in regular department meetings and work closely within the team
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate for this role is natural at building and maintaining long-term relationships. You thrive in a dynamic, international and technical environment where no two days are the same, relying on strong organisational skills and team spirit.
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum HBO educational level (or equivalent through experience)
- At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within technical industries
- Technical aptitude or knowledge is essential
- Affinity with the maritime sector is highly preferred
- Adaptable, proactive, and strong focus on relationship management
- Strong command of spoken and written English; French, German, Dutch, or other languages are a plus
Applicants must currently reside in the Netherlands and possess valid eligibility to work (work permit or passport)
Work location:
Your primary office location is in Almere, the Netherlands. International travel to visit our valued customers is a regular part of the role.
