Within Yanmar Europe, the Finance and Accounting team plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing, strong internal controls, and reliable reporting. The Accounts Payable function directly supports efficient cash management, regulatory compliance, and strong supplier relationships across the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are you going to do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As our Customs & Export Control Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, export control legislation, and international trade requirements across Yanmar Europe. You support the organisation by managing customs operations, maintaining export control processes, and minimising regulatory, financial, and reputational risks. Working closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, and Compliance stakeholders, you help ensure smooth cross-border trade while supporting accurate financial reporting and operational continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your main tasks and responsibilities<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Customs Compliance & Operations
<\/strong>\u2022 Manage day-to-day customs activities across Yanmar Europe entities
\u2022 Ensure correct product classifications and maintain customs master data, including tariff codes
\u2022 Monitor customs clearance and transit procedures and resolve customs-related issues
\u2022 Maintain accurate import and export documentation and customs records
\u2022 Build and maintain relationships with customs authorities and external customs brokers
\u2022 Maintain customs-related data within SAP\/S4HANA<\/p>\n\n\n

Export Control & Trade Compliance
<\/strong>\u2022 Execute export control checks for customers, suppliers, and transactions
\u2022 Perform KYC and restricted party screening using approved compliance tools
\u2022 Maintain and continuously improve the Yanmar Export Control Framework
\u2022 Support and coordinate activities with the Export Control Committee
\u2022 Ensure compliance with export regulations, trade sanctions, embargoes, and dual-use legislation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advisory & Business Support<\/strong>
\u2022 Advise internal stakeholders on customs, VAT, and export control matters
\u2022 Support departments with import\/export requirements and compliance documentation
\u2022 Guide regulatory changes affecting business operations
\u2022 Identify compliance risks and recommend practical process improvements<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governance, Controls & Continuous Improvement<\/strong>
\u2022 Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations
\u2022 Monitor and strengthen controls within customs and export control processes
\u2022 Support standardisation and optimisation initiatives within the shared services organisation
\u2022 Contribute to internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholder Management<\/strong>
\u2022 Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the EMEA region
\u2022 Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, Finance, and Compliance teams

\u2022 Foster a proactive compliance culture and support cross-functional collaboration<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are we looking for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The ideal Customs & Export Control Specialist is a detail-oriented trade compliance professional with strong knowledge of customs regulations, export control legislation, and international trade processes. You are comfortable working in a complex, international environment and have experience managing customs operations, compliance controls, and regulatory requirements. With strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset, you can identify risks, provide practical advice, and drive continuous improvements. You are an effective communicator who builds strong relationships with stakeholders, ensures compliance, and supports efficient business operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ideal candidate<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in customs, international trade, or a related field \u2022 Relevant certifications in customs or trade compliance<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Strong knowledge of EU & international customs regulations, VAT, and export control laws and have worked closely with authorities and partners to keep shipments running smoothly<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Experience with customs declarations, tariff classification, and import\/export processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, export control regulations and dual-use goods requirements: essential for maintaining compliance<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Competent with ERP systems and trade compliance tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • High attention to detail and a compliance mindset<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • An analytical mindset, enabling you to spot potential risks early and proactively address them<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a multinational environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Strong communication with both internal stakeholders and authorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Candidate needs to be able to work independently as well as in a team<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Other languages (especially Dutch) are an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
