Within Yanmar Europe, the Finance and Accounting team plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing, strong internal controls, and reliable reporting. The Accounts Payable function directly supports efficient cash management, regulatory compliance, and strong supplier relationships across the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are you going to do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As our GL Accounting Specialist, you are responsible for ensuring accurate financial administration, reporting, and compliance across Yanmar Europe entities. You manage end-to-end general ledger activities, support month-end and year-end closing processes, and contribute to high-quality financial reporting. Working closely with the Reporting Team Leader and various internal stakeholders, you play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting audits, and continuously improving accounting processes to help achieve the organisation’s financial objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your main tasks and responsibilities<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

General Ledger & Financial Accounting
<\/strong>\u2022 Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications
\u2022 Maintain balance sheet and P&L accuracy through timely account reconciliations
\u2022 Monitor and resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards
\u2022 Support continuous improvements within existing accounting processes and workflows<\/p>\n\n\n

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
<\/strong>\u2022 Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
\u2022 Ensure all month-end closing activities are completed in line with established procedures
\u2022 Prepare reconciliations and supporting documentation for financial reporting purposes
\u2022 Develop and maintain reporting instructions and process documentation where required<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accounts Receivable Support<\/strong>
\u2022 Process and reconcile accounts receivable transactions accurately
\u2022 Monitor outstanding balances, ageing reports, and collection performance
\u2022 Support month-end closing by ensuring AR balances are complete and properly supported
\u2022 Prepare standard receivables reports for internal stakeholders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Payments & Invoice Processing<\/strong>
\u2022 Review, validate, and process supplier invoices through OCR and automated systems
\u2022 Manage vendor payments and banking transactions across multiple banking institutions
\u2022 Handle employee expense reimbursements and vendor payment inquiries
\u2022 Ensure timely and accurate execution of payment processes while optimising payment terms<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master Data Management<\/strong>
\u2022 Maintain accurate customer and supplier master data records
\u2022 Process new customer and supplier registrations with proper documentation and controls
\u2022 Ensure data quality and compliance across finance systems<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audit & Compliance<\/strong>
\u2022 Support internal controls and maintain proper accounting documentation
\u2022 Prepare audit schedules and required supporting documentation for external audits
\u2022 Assist auditors and ensure audit recommendations are implemented where applicable
\u2022 Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Projects & Process Improvement<\/strong>
\u2022 Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and accounting processes
\u2022 Contribute to finance improvement initiatives and process optimisation projects
\u2022 Help drive efficiency, accuracy, and standardisation across accounting activities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholder Management<\/strong>
\u2022 Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business
\u2022 Support Yanmar subsidiaries and finance teams with accounting-related matters
\u2022 Act as a trusted finance partner and contribute to effective cross-functional collaboration
\u2022 Foster a positive and service-oriented working relationship with internal and external contacts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ideal GL Accounting Specialist is a detail-oriented finance professional with strong accounting expertise and a passion for accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. You are comfortable working in a dynamic international environment and have experience managing general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. With strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset, you can identify issues, improve processes, and build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. The ideal candidate<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  • Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, minimum<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 5+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Experience with ERP systems (Exact Globe, SAP S4HANA) is an advantage<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Proficiency in AR and AP systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting & reporting processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Fluency in written & spoken English is a requirement. Other languages are a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
