Strong presence Yanmar Europe at Key Marine Exhibitions

Trade shows are essential for Yanmar to stay connected with the marine industry, strengthen partnerships, and share our latest innovations. In May 2025, we actively participated in several specialised events across Europe. Valuable moments to engage with key stakeholders. Here’s a brief look at where we’ve been and what we’ve shared.

Seafood Expo Global (Barcelona 6-8 May)

This is the world’s largest fisheries trade fair, bringing together over 35,000 professionals to explore innovation and address key challenges in the industry. It offered an excellent platform for Yanmar to present its commercial maritime solutions to a broad and international audience. While not focused on direct sales, the event proved highly valuable for networking. We had insightful conversations with fishery boat owners, ship designers and shipyards from across the globe. Also we identified a promising new project involving a Spanish EU export fishing vessel. All in all, it was of great value to Yanmar to be part of such a high-impact event that supports long-term opportunities and relationships.

Expomar (Burela, 7-10 May)

Expomar is a niche market exhibition in Galicia, focused on small to medium-sized fishing vessel owners. Key themes this year included hybrid electric propulsion, biofuels, and emissions regulations. Yanmar took part together with distributor Skandiaverken, presenting its latest technologies to this specialised audience. The spotlight was on the 6AYEM, Yanmar’s 6-cylinder marine engine, which drew strong interest from professionals in the fishing sector seeking reliable and future-ready power solutions. Despite its modest scale, the event delivered valuable leads including a newbuild project, a service operation vessel, and a repowering opportunity. Overall, a well-targeted and productive event that proved worth attending.

Tug Technology (Antwerp, 20-21 May)

In Antwerp the 10th edition of the Tug Technology took place, dedicated to the global towage and tugboat industry. The event featured a strong lineup of keynote speakers and seminars focused on innovative developments in the field. There were plenty of opportunities to network and explore the latest installation technologies first-hand. Yanmar had its own booth at the exhibition, which proved to be a great setup for engaging with visitors. The quality of attendees was high, and we had several productive one-on-one meetings that led to some promising leads. All-in all, a very useful and valuable experience.

Maritime Industry (Gorinchem, 20-22 May)

At this leading trade fair for the inland shipping sector Yanmar made a strong impression presenting the upcoming 6AYM Stage V engine set for release later this year. As part of the display, partner Shipfix contributed a diesel generator set featuring Yanmar’s 4TNV98C engine which drew strong interest from inland shipping professionals. Other innovative solutions on display included a hybrid oil-fired boiler and ultra-thin electric floor heating, ideal for space-constrained vessels. Although the first day saw fewer visitors, the quality of interactions was high and resulted in several promising inquiries. The feedback on the stand was very positive: great location and eye-catching design. This reinforces Yanmar’s commitment to future participation. Plans are already in place to expand the stand and feature the 6AYM engine live next year.

Full Speed Ahead

Yanmar looks back on a dynamic and fruitful exhibition season this May, marked by inspiring conversations, valuable knowledge exchange, and concrete new leads.
