Running together for a better future: Yanmar at the Almere Weerwater Run

On Sunday, June 15, the 14th edition of the Almere Weerwater Run took place, previously known as the Almere City Run. As in previous years, Yanmar was proud to join in. A team of 35 colleagues put on their running shoes and hit the course, full of energy and team spirit.

United in Red and White

Yanmar has been a proud participant in this event for many years. For many colleagues, it’s something to look forward to each year. Our red-and-white shirts were easy to spot across all distances — from the cheerful 1 km kids’ run to the more challenging 5, 10, and 15 km races. No matter the distance, the energy and dedication were the same. It was a great reflection of the diversity and unity within our team.

Scenery, support and team spirit

The run followed a beautiful route around Almere’s Weerwater lake, with wide-open skies, peaceful greenery, and stunning views of the city skyline. Yanmar’s own tent near the event grounds offered a relaxed and welcoming space. It became a hub where colleagues, families, and supporters could gather, cool down, and recharge. Even with the high temperatures, the energy stayed high and the positive atmosphere was felt all around.

Great Times, Great Team

This year’s run also supported KWF (the Dutch Cancer Society), adding extra meaning to the day. The entire Yanmar team had a fantastic time running, cheering, and relaxing together. Everyone looks back on the day with great joy and is already looking forward to the next edition of the Almere Weerwater Run.

Living our philosophy

Participating in events like this reflects Yanmar’s Hanasaka philosophy — the belief in helping people and communities thrive. By promoting health, connection, and a shared purpose, we’re contributing not just to physical well-being, but to a more vibrant, resilient society.
