Yanmar restructures Power Business for sharper focus

Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. has announced a major corporate reorganisation effective October 1, 2025. The company’s subsidiary, Yanmar Power Technology Co., Ltd., will be divided into two independent entities:

• Yanmar Power Technology Co., Ltd. – focusing on industrial power products.
• Yanmar Power Solutions Co., Ltd. – focusing on marine and industrial engines, including medium- and high-speed models and standby power systems.

Fueling the Future with Smarter, Cleaner Power

One of the main reasons for this change is the significant shift towards sustainability happening across all industries, with each market facing its own unique environmental and technological challenges. By establishing Yanmar Power Solutions as an independent company, Yanmar can fully dedicate its attention to the highly specialised marine sector and its role in global decarbonisation. Yanmar Power Solutions will concentrate on large engines for ships and land-based power systems, promoting cleaner, more innovative technologies such as hydrogen and methanol engines to support the worldwide aim of carbon neutrality by 2050.

Leadership Driving Yanmar’s Next Chapter

Masaru Hirose has been appointed President and Representative Director of Yanmar Power Solutions. Having joined Yanmar in 1987, he brings extensive experience in large power products and has led that division as Director and Head since 2020. Hirose also holds key leadership roles in major Japanese maritime and machinery associations. He highlights Yanmar Power Solutions’ dedication to environmental compliance, decarbonisation, and improved thermal efficiency in support of global growth and strategic aims.

Tomohisa Tao will continue to serve as President and Representative Director of Yanmar Power Technology, a position he has held since 2020. A seasoned executive with extensive experience across Yanmar’s power businesses, including Development Planning and Industrial Power Products, Tao brings profound expertise and insight into Yanmar’s core power operations. Under his leadership, Yanmar Power Technology will keep advancing innovation and sustainability in industrial power products, ensuring the company remains a trusted global leader.

At the same time, Yanmar Power Solutions will concentrate on marine and industrial engines for ships, power generation, and standby systems.
