Yanmar Engineering Greece celebrates 25th anniversary

This year marks an important milestone for Yanmar Engineering Greece, celebrating 25 years of dedicated service to Greek shipowners. Over the past quarter century, the organisation has built a strong reputation for reliability, technical expertise, and long-term partnership in one of the world’s most influential maritime markets.

Milestone celebration in Athens

The anniversary was formally celebrated during a dedicated event held on Monday, 10 November 2025, at the InterContinental Hotel in Athens. The event brought together clients, partners, and representatives from the Greek shipping community, the Yanmar Group, and the Embassy of Japan in Greece. The presence of a strong Yanmar Europe delegation, including a.o. Samir Laoukili (president) and Eric Tigelaar (Department Manager Commercial Marine), underlined the strategic importance of the Greek market and the close cooperation between regional and global teams.

Festive speeches, insights and networking

The celebration event opened with a welcome address by Mr. Yorgos Diakoyannis, Manager of Yanmar Engineering Hellas Liaison Office, followed by a contribution by Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Greece, Mr Takaaki Nemoto and Mr Yasufumi Ueyama, President of YANMAR Engineering Co., Ltd.

Mr. Masaru Hirose, President and Representative Director of Yanmar Power Solutions held a keynote speech of the evening, highlighting Yanmar’s long-standing partnership with the Greek shipping community and its future focus on innovation and sustainability. The programme included technical presentations on alternative fuels and after-sales solutions. The evening concluded on a festive note with a cocktail reception, live jazz music, and Japanese and Greek cuisine, creating a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere for networking.
