Yanmar Commercial Marine reconnects network with Service Agents Meeting

On 2 and 3 December, the Yanmar Commercial Marine department hosted a Service Agents Meeting in the Business Lounge of Almere City Stadium, the Netherlands. The event marked the first edition of the Service Meeting since 2019. Due to Covid and internal changes, the annual event had not taken place in recent years, making this edition an important opportunity to reconnect and strengthen cooperation with our global Service Agents.

A well-planned two-day Programme

The event welcomed 16 Service Agent companies, with 28 participants from 13 different countries. The programme was designed to maximise both knowledge sharing and networking. The first day featured a full agenda of presentations and discussions. In the evening, there was a joint dinner that offered a valuable opportunity for informal exchange. The second day ended at 15:00, enabling most participants to return home the same evening.

Technical updates and practical discussions

The agenda included a balanced mix of internal Yanmar presentations and external partner contributions. From Yanmar Europe (YEU), updates were shared on general developments, parts and YDS, parts policies, service news and LNG and methanol engine developments. Yanmar Engineering Japan provided detailed engine-related updates, including progress on previously reported engine parts issues and the latest developments of Shipsweb. A key topic was the introduction and discussion of standard spare part and maintenance interval kits, which attracted strong interest and prompted open and constructive discussion.

Partner contributions from across the industry

External partners also contributed valuable insights. Noris (Germany) held a presentation on engine control systems, Turner ECS shared expertise on engine governors and actuators, and Axces Emission Technology explained the importance of correct installation, to avoid delays during commissioning and malfunctions in a later stage.

Engagement today, commitment for tomorrow

The Commercial Marine Service Meeting proved highly valuable for the Service Agents, who openly exchanged experiences, regional challenges, and ideas. The strong engagement from all participants clearly demonstrated the benefits of bringing Service Agents together in person, supporting open dialogue, shared knowledge, and closer cooperation. To build on this momentum and keep the network connected, Yanmar has decided to organise the Service Agents Meeting on a bi-yearly basis going forward.
