Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA CSR Activities Introduction

November 28, 2022
Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd.

Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar Construction Equipment Europe S.A.S. And YANMAR Compact Germany GmbH) co-sponsors sports and music events with the hope that many people realize YANMAR Group's goal of "a society full of exciting and enriching experiences.” We are also actively engaged in activities that contribute to the local community. These are some of the activities.

Blood donation campaign

On May 18, 2022, a blood donation campaign was held at YANMAR's facility in Saint-Dizier, France, continuing from last year, and 48 bags of blood were collected. The event was covered in the local media and several companies inquired about how we have done it. Learning from the success of this event, we will prepare an environment where more employees can participate in donating blood next year.

Sponsoring marathon events

Sponsored the Marathon du Lac du Der, a sports event held on June 13th in the Grand Est region of France. You can join this race to run solo, in duos or in quartets. This event attracts thousands of runners each year from the neighborhood, from other regions of France, and even from another country. 22 people from YANMAR also participated in the "Company Challenge," in which companies can participate in races as a team. This year for the first time, the Yanmar Running Team won the Company Challenge!

Company introductions for young people and job seekers

Factories in France and Germany accept factory tours about once a month, and are visited by a variety of groups, including schools, training centers, and facilities for job seekers and people aiming to reintegrate into society. During the tour, we introduce our factory facilities, job descriptions and occupations, as well as the learning path (contents during the internship). In partnership with the Saint-Dizier Tourist Office, we accept tours twice a year to promote industrial tourism.
We also attended an event in Saint-Dizier on March 18 to promote career development and eliminate stigma in the manufacturing industry. Furthermore, on April 28, a lecture was held at a local French university to introduce YANMAR's activities and organization, and 40 third-year students participated. By getting young people and job seekers to know the company through these activities, we are providing opportunities to learn about the activities and occupations of the manufacturing industry like YANMAR.

Support for music festivals

We co-sponsored a music festival “Musical’été” held every year in Saint-Dizier, France. The concerts are free to attend and feature nationally and internationally renowned artists. This year was the second year that EMEA has sponsored this event. It was held from July 1st to 3rd, and a total of about 50,000 people gathered over the three days.
