YANMAR Marine International appoints new General Manager for Nordic region
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – YANMAR Marine International (YMI) has appointed Knut Bøvre as General Manager for the Nordic region, where he will lead the company’s strategic development and long-term growth across Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
The appointment marks a strategic push for YANMAR Marine International in the Nordic region, where it aims to enhance customer experience and solidify its position as the leading choice for marine propulsion solutions. Bøvre will oversee regional strategy, commercial development, operational performance, and aftersales, ensuring that YANMAR’s approach across the Nordic countries is coordinated and aligned with customer needs.
YANMAR’s Nordic strategy will also prioritize strengthening partnerships with boatbuilders and dealers, further elevating its reputation for outstanding product quality and dependable service, and ensuring greater spare parts availability and faster service response times.
Knut Bøvre said: “YANMAR already holds a strong position in the Nordic markets, and the potential for further growth is considerable. My goal is to collaborate closely with our dealers, boatbuilders, and partners to strengthen YANMAR’s reputation for quality and world-class service, ensuring every customer enjoys a consistent, professional, and reliable experience.”
Bøvre joins YANMAR Marine International with extensive experience from the marine and machinery sector. He previously served as Sales and Marketing Manager at Frydenbø Industri, focusing primarily on medium-speed marine engines, while also gaining exposure to high-speed solutions, and has several years of experience with Pon Equipment. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering, providing a strong technical foundation in discussions with customers and partners. Bøvre has lived and studied in Gothenburg, Sweden, and with a strong personal interest in boating, he has a natural connection to the Nordic marine environment.
Floris Lettinga, Director of Sales & Marketing at YANMAR Marine International, said: “Knut’s combination of technical insight, commercial experience, and regional understanding makes him uniquely equipped to lead our strategy in the Nordics. This region has always been forward-looking and quality-driven, and we look forward to creating more and better experiences on the water for people in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.”
