Cowes, UK (August 31st, 2018) -The America\u2019s Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport and the pinnacle of yachting. From inception, the America\u2019s Cup has strongly embraced technical innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Yanmar partnership was announced today at the America\u2019s Cup Overture in Cowes (UK), the first event on the road to the America\u2019s Cup Presented by Prada which will take place in Auckland in 2021. Racing will commence in autumn 2019 when the first America\u2019s Cup World Series events will take place in the Mediterranean. Over the next twelve months the best teams, from the most prestigious yacht clubs, will be designing and building their AC75 yachts in preparation for the America\u2019s Cup World Series that will continue in 2020 with more racing in North America and Asia. The focus will then be on Auckland with the Christmas Race and the all-important Challenger Selection Series, the Prada Cup in January-February 2021. The Prada Cup will determine which Challenger will line up against the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand for the 36th America\u2019s Cup Match in March 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yanmar\u2019s marine diesel engines will be used on the America\u2019s Cup Race Management boats, essential for their role in the successful delivery of the America\u2019s Cup on the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
