1992 June: Yanmar Co., Ltd. GHP Division established
Yanmar started producing GHP (Gas-engine Heat Pump) air conditioning systems in 1987 in response to market needs for heating and cooling systems that reduce electricity consumption, improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. With Yanmar’s GHP business achieving an annual turnover exceeding 10 billion yen the GHP DIVISION was established in 1992 to focus on the further expansion of this business.

1997 June: Yanmar Co., Ltd. Land-based Generator System Division established
Power generation systems have been a core product area from Yanmar’s earliest days with systems for land-based and marine use. By bringing the engineering and maintenance functions for land-based generator products together under the LAND-BASED GENERATOR SYSTEMS DIVISION, this division was able to focus on the specific needs of customers in this market sector.
With the production of the first CP (Cogeneration Package) unit the company entered the gas engine micro-cogeneration market in 1998.

2000 March: Yanmar Co., Ltd. Energy System Division established
With growth of the GHP and power generation business the GHP Division and the Land-based Generator System Division were combined to form the ENERGY SYSTEM DIVISION. By combining these business this new division was able to offer its customers even more comprehensive air conditioning, heat supply and power generation solutions.

2003 March: Yanmar Energy System Co., Ltd. established
In response to rapid changes in the energy systems business YANMAR ENERGY SYSTEM CO., LTD. was established to integrate the work of the Energy System Division and its sales departments in the various companies in the group. Overseeing everything from product development and manufacturing to sales and maintenance, YANMAR ENERGY SYSTEM CO., LTD. is responsible for the operation and expansion of the energy systems business for the Yanmar Group.
