Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation Holds its 7th Soccer-Kids Scholarship Graduation Ceremony

Jakarta, 29th June 2021 - The Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation held a Scholarship Graduation Ceremony for its 7th group of graduating ‘soccer-kids’ scholarship students at the PT. Yanmar Diesel Indonesia (YADIN) office at Depok. The ceremony was held with a strict health protocol and social distancing policy.

In 2014, the Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation in Indonesia started its scholarship program to support middle school students who loves soccer and in need for a financial support to continue their study, in Depok area where YADIN is located. In 2021, as its 7th graduation ceremony, 13 students graduated from the scholarship. They have been receiving the scholarship for 3 years, receiving a total of Rp 3.600.000 per student each year.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation and Kai Yasuda, President Director of PT. Yanmar Diesel Indonesia (YADIN). A message for the graduation ceremony was sent by Mr. Masanori Uchida, Executive Director of the Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation represent the President, Kento Yamaoka. Since he was unable to attend the ceremony in person due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In his video broadcast, Mr. Masanori Uchida said “I believe that in the near future, we will have players who will be active in the Indonesian Premier League and J.League from among the scholarship students. Enjoy playing soccer even after graduating from the scholarship. I pray for your future success.”

On the video broadcast, Mr. Masanori Uchida also state if Indonesia is one of the countries of long-lasting and important partners of the Yanmar Group and Yamaoka scholarship association will continue to provide scholarships in Indonesia for a long time to now.
The Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation was founded by Magokichi Yamaoka, the founder of Yanmar Co., Ltd. Using his personal assets. In Japan, the Yamaoka Scholarship Foundation provides and manages scholarships for high school, graduate and foreign students who are engaged in the research in natural science.

Since 2013, the foundation has also been active in Southeast Asia, and in Indonesia offers academic support to junior high school students in Jakarta to continue with soccer training while attending school, offering a few opportunities to pursue a professional football career.

Kai Yasuda, the President Director of PT. Yanmar Diesel Indonesia (YADIN) stated that “We are very grateful for your presence at the Yamaoka scholarship graduation ceremony. We also congratulate to all the Yamaoka graduates who have completed and graduated from this program. With the Yamaoka scholarship program, we believe that graduates have had a good opportunity to learn to strive for something in order to achieve their goals and continue to grow and develop to be better. We hope that the experience that has been gained and passed by the graduates, can bring a positive influence and of course to help the journey of the graduates towards their big dreams in the future.", he added.

On this occasion, Ahmad Rasyadan, as one of the Yamaoka scholarship recipients, gave his impression.
“I as a yamaoka scholarship recipient have many incredible experiences through this scholarship program. And I am very grateful to PT Yanmar Diesel Indonesia for the opportunity given to me so that I can have this experience and also to Yamaoka Foundation for giving me the opportunity as a first step to achieve my goals and dreams in the future through soccer.”
