Recognizing the crucial role of these strategies, we are actively seeking a ‘Mergers and Acquisitions Manager’ to strengthen our M&A team for Yanmar’s global headquarters and further our mission.

What are you going to do?

As the Mergers and Acquisitions Manager at YANMAR, you’ll work in a small highly professional team, consisting of the Senior Manager M&A and a Business Analyst. You will work on the development, refinement and execution of YANMAR’s M&A strategy, delving deeply into market analysis to identify potential opportunities, synergies and strategic alignments.

Your responsibility stretches beyond mere identification; you will manage the transaction process, engaging in comprehensive financial analyses and due diligence. You will maintain and foster key relationships internally across YANMAR departments and externally with potential acquisition targets and advisors.

Your acumen in negotiations, paired with rigorous financial modelling and strategy alignment, will shape the M&A proposals presented to YANMAR’s Executive Board and Group Strategy Committee. Each transaction you oversee will not only bear the mark of strategic insight but also of seamless execution, ensuring YANMAR’s growth is both impactful and consistent with its vision.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Execute YANMAR’s M&A strategy through data-driven market research, analyses and opportunity identification;
  • Transaction Leadership: Manage/ coordinate M&A transaction processes, ensuring thorough business, financial, operational, and strategic analysis of targets;
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain relationships with key internal departments and external stakeholders, facilitating smooth transactions;
  • Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Participate actively in deal negotiations, employing a multidisciplinary approach to achieve favorable terms;
  • Proposal & Presentation: Craft compelling M&A proposals, supplemented with detailed financial models, for presentation to top decision-makers;
  • Integration Planning & Execution: Develop and implement plans for acquired targets, ensuring seamless integration and transition.


Who are we looking for?

The M&A Manager partners seamlessly with the other members of the M&A team and reports to the Senior Manager M&A. Passionate about M&A. You adeptly identify challenges and opportunities. Your data-driven decisions and strong relational skills stand out. With effective communication and an entrepreneurial drive, you are prepared for international settings and travel.

The ideal candidate:

  • Master degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge and analytical capabilities gained through experience;
  • Minimum of 7 years – in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A/ transaction advisory roles, strategy consulting at a top-tier firm, M&A or strategy at a corporate multinational company (experience with Japanese multinational corporate companies is a plus);
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with think-cell and PowerBI, is a plus;
  • The following (mindset) qualities apply to you: embody a proactive, confident, approachable, and flexible attitude. Your outstanding work ethic and being a team player and self-starter set you apart. An entrepreneurial spirit drives you always to seek innovative solutions;
  • Excellent command of English (full professional proficiency) and proficiency in a second language;

Work location:

Your primary office location is in the Netherlands, first in Almere and a possible future transition to Amsterdam. This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing for 60% remote work and 40% in-office presence. Additionally, you should anticipate international travel, which comprises 20%-30% of the position’s responsibilities.
