YANMAR Brings Power of Choice to Cannes Yachting Festival 2026
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – YANMAR Marine International (YMI) will display a selection of advanced propulsion solutions at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, featuring its renowned combustion engines alongside its electric propulsion solution.
Built around the principle of ‘Power of Choice’, YANMAR is giving owners and boatbuilders the flexibility to transition towards electric propulsion or use YANMAR’s common rail combustion engines which are highly efficient, reliable, and HVO-fuel approved.
At the YANMAR booth, which is in a new location at Jetée 177, visitors can explore a complete propulsion ecosystem. Alongside experienced representatives from YANMAR, products on display will include:
The 4LV common rail engine equipped with SD150 Saildrive suitable for large Sailboats. The 4LV engine series delivers powerful low-end torque and fuel efficiency from a compact 2.8L displacement, alongside YANMAR’s renowned reliability. It exceeds EPA Tier 3 and EU RCD Stage 2 emissions regulations, ensuring virtually smoke and odor-free operation. The 4LV integrates seamlessly with onboard technology.
The SD150 Saildrive enables easy installation, improved maneuverability, and reduced onboard vibration.
YANMAR will also be showcasing its multi-award-winning SDe Series of electric saildrives. The SDe electric saildrive offers boat builders, engineers, and refitters a 100% emissions-free option that’s easy to install, use, and maintain.
Available in 7kW, 10kW, and 15kW outputs on a 48V platform for sailboats up to 40ft, the SDe fits the same engine base as YANMAR’s YM and GM engines with no hull modification required. Gear, motor, controller, and cooling are fully integrated into one compact unit, using a closed-loop oil system that minimizes corrosion and simplifies servicing.
Also available to see on the YANMAR stand is the VC30 Vessel Control System. YANMAR’s third-generation Control System simplifies throttle control and docking with a precision-engineered joystick, compatible with VETUS bow thrusters. Featuring a 4.3″ optically bonded display with auto-dimming and NMEA2000 output, plus fewer components for quicker installation, the VC30 delivers a unified, easy-to-maintain system for a seamless dashboard experience.
Wouter-Jan van der Wurff, President and CEO of YANMAR Marine Recreational Business Unit, said: “Whether customers are looking for the latest common rail engines or are ready to embrace electric propulsion, we are committed to providing solutions that match their needs today and support their ambitions for tomorrow. Cannes Yachting Festival is the perfect opportunity to experience our propulsion ecosystem firsthand, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the YANMAR stand to discover how we are delivering the power of choice.”
