YANMAR LAUNCHES NEW CONTROL SYSTEM AT METSTRADE
Amsterdam, The Netherlands — YANMAR Marine International has announced the launch of its VC30 at Metstrade, a third-generation Vessel Control System, with advanced design and functionality, a newly designed precision-engineered joystick and easy installation.
YANMAR’s most advanced control system to date, the VC30 is designed to simplify throttle control and docking in one integrated system, whilst making it easier to view data and create a seamless dashboard.
The full system is enhanced by a high-quality display and modern design, including a larger, 4.3” 1000cd optically bonded screen, to reduce reflection and improve readability, with NMEA2000 output. The display unit has an auto dimming function for dark conditions at night, ensuring effective lighting and a better boat operating experience at all times.
Both the control heads and switch panels have been enhanced with a new design to maintain a unified look and feel across all elements of the controls, with improved water resistance and natural feel push buttons.
With fewer components and the need for only one ECU, installation is quicker than previous editions, and the system is easier to maintain with improved GUI for easier configuration and control.
The VC30 also offers dedicated joystick controls, compatible with bow thrusters from sister company, VETUS for simplified docking and better maneuvering in tight waterways. This joystick control function is available for both sterndrive and inboard applications.
Wouter-Jan Van der Wurff, President and CEO at YANMAR Marine International, said: “With the VC30 Vessel Control System, we are redefining what intuitive marine control looks like. It’s our most advanced system to date, and it is designed to improve the onboard experience and ensure simple and straightforward vessel control. We have considered the needs of boat builders and dealers by making it easy to integrate in the various build stages or for easy retrofit.”
It has been developed for single, twin, and triple engines and is compatible with YANMAR’s HVO-approved common rail engines, from its JH-CR series (from 40mhp) through to the 6LT series (up to 640mhp). This makes the VC30 suitable for a wide variety of vessel types and sizes. It is especially effective for sailing yachts up to 75 feet, motorboats up to 60 feet, and sailing multihulls.
The VC30 is available to view for the first time at Metstrade on the YANMAR Marine International stand (01.343) and YANMAR’s extensive network of over 2,000 dealers are trained on how to install and maintain the system.
