What are you going to do?
As an Account Representative at Yanmar Marine International, you will be part of the Global Sales department. Working in a motivated and diverse team of experienced account managers and passionate talents, your focus will be on understanding customer needs, building trust, and delivering high-quality products and services in the maritime sector.
You will be the key point of contact for a portfolio of dealers and boatbuilders. By regularly visiting customers and prospects, you’ll gather insights into their order portfolios, sales trends, and logistical requirements. You will be responsible for creating quotations, processing orders in our ERP system, and ensuring smooth delivery in close collaboration with the Back Office team. Your ability to listen actively, understand commercial opportunities, and provide fitting solutions is central to success in this role.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Build long-term customer relationships through regular visits and proactive, solution-oriented communication
- Assess customer needs and suggest suitable products, services, or solutions that align with their goals
- Create compelling quotations, proposals, and presentations that reflect both customer requirements and Yanmar’s values
- Process sales orders accurately in our ERP system, maintaining close communication with the Back Office to secure timely and correct deliveries
- Collaborate with the team to support the development of regional sales strategies and activity programs
- Gather and analyse market data, customer feedback, and order trends to support sales planning and decision-making
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, follow up on shipment issues, and ensure a high standard of service
- Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to a strong team culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement
Who are we looking for?
You are a driven and customer-focused professional with a commercial or technical background who has grown into a sales role. You combine product understanding with strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building lasting business relationships. You are at ease in a technical B2B setting and motivated to contribute to an international sales team.
You bring:
- A completed MBO+ or BSc degree in a technical or commercial field or equivalent through professional experience
- At least 3 years of experience in a B2B sales or account management role
- Affinity with the maritime or technical sector is a strong plus
- Experience working with dealers or distribution networks is preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive mindset
- Fluency in Dutch and English is required; other languages such as French or German are a plus
- You live in the Netherlands and have valid work authorisation (passport or work permit)
Work location:
Your primary office location is Almere, the Netherlands. Occasional international travel to visit customers and partners is part of the role.
