YEBISU marine diesel engines are purpose-built to perform as a reliable “Work Horse” in the tough and demanding commercial marine operating conditions. These 2, 3 and 4-cylinder direct injection type 4-cycle diesel engines with a bore diameter of 105 mm and long stroke of 118 mm have a displacement of 2.043, 3.065 and 4.087 litres respectively delivering between 28 and 107 mhp at very low rated rpm of 2000-2200, while maintaining the high-rise torque characteristics consistent throughout the operating range without compromising the fuel efficiency. These rugged engines made of solid cast iron block with alloy steel crankshaft and forged steel connecting rods are externally complemented with application-sized (belt driven) sea water pump, custom designed and specially built marine grade heat exchanger, lub oil, fuel cooler and water-cooled exhaust manifold, all first of its kind in their class ensuring maximum life. Extreme care has been taken to keep the engines simple in terms of construction, operation and maintenance keeping in view the type of boats on which these engines will be installed.
