Participating in fundraising events

“Duck Drop Derby” is a fundraiser for the “Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids and Greenway”. In this event, a large number of numbered ducks (made of rubber) are floated down the Mississippi River, and the first duck to cross the finish line with the same number as a $5 ticket is the winner. Yanmar Compact Equipment North America (YCENA) employees helped release large numbers of ducks into the Mississippi River using the compact track loader at this event. Profits from this event were donated to “Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids and Greenway”, which supports youth education and more. All released ducks were collected a short distance down the river.

Donation to food bank

YCENA undertook the 2nd Fill the Bucket Challenge to support the activities of the local food bank “Second Harvest North Central Food Bank”.
They provide necessary food to food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other charitable feeding programs. Through donations, they also support direct food delivery to needy families, children and the elderly. YCENA employees raised funds to support the organization's activities, donating $5,000 through this Fill the Bucket Challenge.

Participating in local events

YCENA employees participated in the local event “Tall Timber Days Parade” to promote both YCENA and YANMAR. At the parade, a high-output compact track loader (VT-70) and a mini excavator (ViO55) were showcased . The ViO55 was displayed on a trailer and the VT-70 was driven by team member Ray Peasley. Other members put candy in a compact track loader (VT-100) high-output bucket and distributed it to the parade participants. This event was an opportunity for YCENA and the YANMAR brand to be known, and was also enjoyed by local residents.

YMCA activity support

YCENA volunteered to help maintain the Itasca County Family YMCA Youth Garden in Minnesota. As the YMCA prepared to build a raised bed in the youth garden, YCENA employees cleared the ground with a compact track loader (RT-40) with a soil conditioner attachment.
