Almere, The Netherlands – YANMAR Marine International (YMI) will assume direct responsibility for the distribution of YANMAR Marine products in Italy from late Q4 2026, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to one of Europe’s most significant marine markets.

This strategic direction creates a closer connection to YANMAR’s global organization, enabling enhanced support and access to expertise, and stronger collaboration across sales, service and product development.

YANMAR will be positioned more effectively to support the evolving needs of Italian boatbuilders and owners, increase customer engagement, and further develop its service capabilities and dealer network.

Floris Lettinga, Director of Sales and Marketing at YANMAR Marine International, said: “As we enter this new chapter, our focus remains on delivering industry-leading products and exceptional support to our customers. By establishing a direct presence in Italy, we can respond more quickly to market needs, strengthen technical and service support, and invest further in the growth of the Italian marine industry.”

This move will build on the strong legacy established by Cartello, which has been the exclusive distributor of YANMAR marine engines in Italy since 1985. For over four decades, Cartello has played a pivotal role in building the YANMAR brand in Italy, developing a strong dealer and service network and providing support to customers throughout the Italian market.

YANMAR is working closely with Cartello to ensure a smooth transition. Product availability, technical support, parts supply and after-sales service will continue uninterrupted throughout the transition.

Following the transition, Cartello will continue to work alongside YANMAR in Italy as an authorized YANMAR dealer and service partner based in Carasco, near Genoa.
