Kuching, Malaysia — Yanmar Asia, together with TEDOM, a company of Yanmar Group, was honoured to participate in the Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park (KIWMP) event, attended by the Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak as Guest of Honour. The event underscores Sarawak’s strong commitment to advancing waste-to-energy initiatives and accelerating its transition towards a circular economy.

Held at KIWMP in Mambong, the initiative marks a significant step in transforming landfill waste into usable energy. The project, initiated by project owner, Sarawak Wastes Management Sdn Bhd in partnership with Pansar and Yanmar Asia, features a pilot waste-to-energy system designed to process municipal solid waste and convert it into electricity—reducing reliance on conventional landfill methods while enhancing resource recovery.

Reinforcing the message that waste is no longer wasted, landfill gases are captured and converted into valuable energy through TEDOM - Yanmar Group’s Neotower 5.0 system. This pilot deployment demonstrates how advanced technology can unlock new value from waste streams while contributing to cleaner and more sustainable energy generation.

The project represents an important milestone in modernising waste management practices in Sarawak, combining innovation, environmental responsibility, and economic value creation. Yanmar Group remains committed to supporting partners and communities with reliable, forward-looking energy solutions that drive sustainable development.
