Highlights

1. Demand Control

The new hospital significantly increases the use of gas-powered air conditioning through the expansion of GHP / GHP chillers, while utilizing CP series (Gas micro cogeneration) for power generation to effectively manage electrical demand during peak times.

2. Backup (BCP Compliance)

Yanmar outdoor units are capable of connecting two units, ensuring that if one unit experiences a failure, the other automatically takes over as a backup. This reliable system is installed in critical areas, such as patient rooms and waiting areas, where uninterrupted air conditioning is essential.

3. Power Outage Response

Our cogeneration system provides both electricity and hot water. In the event of a power outage, it is designed to operate autonomously, supplying power primarily through the GHP, allowing the hospital to maintain normal operations without interruption to air conditioning.

4. Outdoor Air Processing

The GHP chiller features an integrated water heat exchanger that produces chilled and hot water. It serves as a heat source for the outdoor air handling unit, cooling or heating the air as necessary when introducing outside air.

This reflects the board’s philosophy: creating a comfortable environment for all. This principle was foundational during the design of the hospital’s systems.

In the new hospital, there was a desire to increase the number of medical devices, including MRI machines, which anticipated an increase in electrical demand. Balancing comfort with the reduction of electrical demand became a significant theme.

To address this, the hospital increased the proportion of gas-powered air conditioning compared to the old facility and expanded the capacity of its cogeneration system. As a result, despite an increase in floor area and medical equipment, the hospital was able to maintain the same level of electrical demand.

Additionally, by selecting a GHP with connected outdoor units and a backup micro-cogeneration system, the hospital has enhanced its preparedness for equipment failures and power outages.
