YANMAR AMERICA EMPLOYEE WINS CARTERSVILLE-BARTOW CHAMBER’S IMPACT AWARD

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Kelly Armstrong, Parts Operations Manager at YANMAR AMERICA CORPORATION, was presented with prestigious Cartersville-Bartow Chamber’s Impact Award for young professionals on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019.

The IMPACT Awards was created by the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber to recognize emerging leaders in the Cartersville-Bartow community. These individuals were selected because they display outstanding leadership in their field and are creating a significant difference in their community through their community service efforts.

“She helped design YANMAR’s LEAD 1 and 2 programs to create training courses to further develop company leadership,” The Cartersville-Bartow Chamber said. “She has earned the respect of her colleagues, not only in the United States but in all of the countries that she has worked.”

Armstrong is active in the Cartersville-Bartow community in many ways. She has participated in DARE events and Anheuser-Busch family day, as well as Bring Your Child to Work Day where she spoke about safety and the importance of personal goals. She actively speaks at career days at Adairsville and Calhoun high schools, to support and guide the community youth. Armstrong also participates in various charity runs including the Chick-fil-A 5K and Susan G Komen 5k. Her community work continues with her involvement in the Back Pack Buddies program, Bread of Life Ministry, and the disaster relief efforts that followed the Bartow county tornados.

“Thank you to the Bartow Chamber of Commerce for recognizing myself and fellow recipients for our IMPACT and contributions in our community,” winner Kelly Armstrong said. “This is one of the most significant events in my professional career and I am honored to receive this award.”

Armstrong’s career with YANMAR AMERICA has been, and continues to be, monumentally successful. Throughout her YANMAR career she has worked in Japan, India, Korea, China, Spain, and Italy in various capacities. She is a supportive female role model, championing the equality of women in the workplace.

Armstrong is also a mentor to female coworkers and other businesswomen in the community.

“I have promoted women in engineering by mentoring fellow women engineers within YANMAR local high schools and my community service,” Armstrong said. “I am currently mentoring an engineer within the company to lead the Kaizen program one day.”
