Yanmar America joins Mack Boring on its 100th Anniversary

Adairsville, GA (September 26, 2022) – Yanmar America has joined with distributor Mack Boring & Parts Co. (Mack Boring), to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary. In a ceremony held at the Mack Boring headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey, Norman Bier, Division Manager, Yanmar America Parts Division, presented Patrick McGovern, President, Mack Boring, with a plaque commemorating the company’s 100th year as a family operated company.

Mack Boring & Parts Co. was founded in 1922 by Edward “Mack” McGovern returning from WW1 where he served as a machinist in the U.S. Navy. “Mack”, set out to use his technical skills to build a business providing parts, cylinder boring and general machine shop work. Over the years, the company has gone from strength to strength, expanding from its initial focus on machining services for automotive and industrial applications to distribution of a wide range of engine technology.

As Mack Boring expanded its engine and power business, Yanmar America was there to support the company’s growth with a wide range of genuine parts manufactured to Yanmar’s industry-leading standards in quality and durability. Supported from Yanmar America’s Distribution Center at its North American headquarters in Adairsville, Georgia, Yanmar’s team of highly trained parts specialists works closely with Mack Boring’s service personnel to facilitate rapid delivery of the highest rated genuine parts to serve the customer.

Yanmar is also a company with a century of history and celebrated its first 100 years in 2012. Yanmar shares Mack Boring’s heritage as a family-owned company and the companies have enjoyed a long-standing and fruitful partnership since Mack Boring shipped its first Yanmar engines in the early 1970s.
