Virginia Beach, VA (January 10, 2024) – Joyride Sailing, supported by Yanmar America and Getmyboat has completed an exciting season of racing featuring a thrilling victory in September’s Neptune Atlantic Coastal Race, alongside first places in the Spring Series, the CCV Founders Cup and the Cape Henry Cup. Overall, the team emerged triumphant not only in their class but also as the overall winners of the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF).

“Joyride Sailing has had an outstanding year, culminating in being the overall high points first place in the PHRF A Fleet for the entire year,” said team captain Doug Bird, reflecting on the season. “We were able to secure victories in some tough races and series and I couldn’t be prouder of the way the team performed.”

Joyride is gearing up for an exhilarating 2024. Focused on elevating their competition and attaining greater success, the team is venturing into the highly competitive Melges 24 class. This one-design, internationally recognized class features top-level competition, providing an ideal arena for Joyride to showcase their skills and determination.
