Plant Controller (m/f/d)

Contract : Permanent position
Lead plant financial performance and product costing governance for one or more plants, provide authoritative cost analysis and recommendations, and drive improvements in costing accuracy, inventory valuation and working capital within delegated approval limits.
Missions
Key responsibilities :
- BOM costing governance: own the standard cost methodology and lead BOM cost builds; approve plant level cost changes within delegated limits and escalate larger changes.
- Financial planning and reporting: lead annual budget and rolling forecasts for the plant; prepare and present monthly management reporting and actionable variance narratives to plant leadership.
- Inventory valorisation and controls: define and enforce valuation policies; lead month end inventory close and reconciliations; approve valuation assumptions within delegation.
- CapEx planning and tracking: develop robust CapEx business cases and financial analyses; recommend approvals to the CapEx committee; track delivery and benefits realization.
- Make or buy and sourcing support: lead economic modelling and supplier cost benchmarking; provide clear recommendations to procurement and operations.
- Purchase price and supplier programs: own PPV analysis, coordinate supplier variance remediation and track realized savings.
- Working capital and DPO: design and implement initiatives to improve DPO and cash conversion; quantify and report cash impact.
- Process and team development: mentor and coach junior controllers; drive reporting automation and continuous improvement (ERP, BI tools); strengthen internal controls.
Authority and limits :
- Approval authority: approve routine costing adjustments and inventory valuation assumptions within defined monetary and materiality thresholds; escalate strategic or high value decisions to operations finance manager.
- Decision remit: accountable for recommendations and for ensuring accurate financial reporting; not the final approver for corporate CapEx beyond delegation.
Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing finance, plant controlling or cost accounting with demonstrated cross functional influence is mandatory.
- Technical:
Strong ERP expertise (SAP FI/CO and CO PA preferred), advanced financial modelling, BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) and process automation.
Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodologies to structure analyses, to work closely with operations to identify waste, analyze performance gaps and propose quantified improvement actions, and translate into measurable financial results.
