The Subsoiler, also known as the subblaster, is an agricultural equipment used to loosen the lower layers of the soil. A Subsoiler that can work at a depth of 40-60 cm is used to break the hard and impermeable layer (base stone) formed in the soil as a result of cultivating the soil at the same depth for many years with the plow. As long as this inefficient layer is not broken, large decreases in product yield are seen over time. It is a hanging machine that can tillage without removing the infertile soil in the lower layer of the soil to the upper layers.

  • It provides an increase in productivity by blasting the base stone and loosening the soil.
  • It provides a great support to plant root development by breaking the hard layer.
  • It prevents rainwater from stagnating on the soil surface, and ensures the preservation of soil moisture by drawing the water to the bottom.
  • In the dry seasons, it preserves the moisture existing under the soil due to the base stone.
  • It prevents inconsistent runoff and erosion.
  • With the help of mole drains, it opens a drainage channel in the soil.
  • It also provides fertilization while cultivating the soil in the machines with fertilization mechanism.
  • If the depth of the hard layer formed is close to the soil surface, the use of chisel is sufficient. However, it is more effective to pull the bottom cauldron to break up the bottom stone formed at deeper depths. If the hard layer is formed at a depth of 20-25 cm from the soil surface, the use of chisel will be sufficient. If the hard layer is formed at a depth of 30-40 cm from the soil surface, the use of a Subsoiler that can work up to a depth of 50-60 cm can easily break the bottom stone.

Subsoilers are diversified according to the construction feature and the number of legs.

Subsoilers are divided into two groups according to their construction features:

  • Has a fixed functioning organ
  • With vibrating processor
  • The power and strength needs of the bottom boilers vary depending on the depth of work, the number of feet and soil properties. Subsoilers with vibrating processor have 60% less drawbar force requirement and although the power requirement is lower than bottom boilers with fixed processor, the processed area can be 40% more. Subsoilers with a vibrating working organ get their power from the PTO and are produced with a large capacity. Subsoiler with fixed working organ; It needs 40-60 kW of power when working at 3-4 km/h and 50-60 cm depth.

Subsoilers are equipment that can work at high working depth and greatly affect the efficiency obtained by repeating their use in the field once in 4-5 years. These equipments, which vary according to the construction feature and the number of feet, are priced in various ways in terms of price. Depending on the number of legs and whether they are vibrating or fixed, the prices of subsoilers are in the low and medium price segment. The breakdown of the hard and impermeable layer (base stone) formed in the soil as a result of cultivating the soil at the same depth with the plow for many years should be repeated once in 4-5 years. The most suitable time for the bottom cauldron to be applied to the soil to break up this hard base is the summer months when the soil is drier.
