Ongoing Efforts and Systems
- We strive for overseas production bases that achieve cost-efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing, where experienced personnel are always present to educate and instruct local employees on Yanmar standards related to operation and systems.
Overseas production bases abide strictly by Yanmar standards and communicate closely with the mother factory in Japan. - We create an atmosphere at overseas production bases where local employees can continuously solve problems on their own initiative and improve and reform work processes.
- We implement standards to ensure that all overseas production bases can be evaluated using the same level of criteria; this contributes to a greater feeling of friendly competition among bases.
- We facilitate the sharing of best practices and the fruits of improvement efforts.
- We train and foster local administrators and supervisors.
- Key personnel are appointed at each production base to disseminate and support the above-mentioned efforts.
Activities of the Overseas Support Division
Along with the April 1, 2013 start of the new YANMAR AGRIBUSINESS CO., LTD., we launched the Overseas Support Division. This division allows us to better guide and support quality and manufacturing activities for the Yanmar Group's agricultural business around the world.
The Overseas Support Division comprises three groups.
- The Manufacturing Improvement Group, which conducts YWK (Yanmar Way by Kaizen) activities and which supports improvement efforts at overseas subsidiaries and other Yanmar overseas agricultural bases.
- The Quality Control Group, which supports quality activities at overseas subsidiaries and parts manufacturers.
- The Production Planning Group, which helps overseas subsidiaries plan new products and prepare them for production.
The production of agricultural machinery is gradually moving overseas. With overseas subsidiaries positioned to play an increasingly important role, members of Yanmar's Overseas Support Division will continue to work tirelessly to transfer manufacturing know-how from the Yanmar mother factory to overseas subsidiaries.
