Creating Yanmar’s Presence in Laos

On 9 June 2018 in Laos, Yanmar Singapore (YASC) took part in LaoBuild 2018 Expo, a 3-day event held from 7-9 June. The event was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
According to the Vientiane Planning and Investment Department, over 800 projects are underway including power, special economic zones, commercial, industrial and residential building and hotels.
LaoBuild 2018 was a stage for YASC to enhance its industry presence and create business opportunities. It was also a platform to understand the market requirements.
Some of 85 visitors visited YASC’s booth. Among them, there were various groups of interested buyers and trading companies seeking business opportunities.
YASC team received positive feedback from the visitors. According to the visitors, Yanmar is an established, reliable brand in the agriculture industry, providing quality products manufactured and engineered in Japan. In addition, buyers found that the price of Yanmar’s power generator is competitive with the existing local dominated China brand.
The networking session and market response were rather fruitful. It enabled YASC and Laotian companies to explore business opportunities. It is also hoped that this event will spur Laotian companies to use Yanmar products for their businesses.
