Yanmar 4TN101FDT Industrial Diesel Engine

The Yanmar 4TN101FDT is a 3.8-litre, four-cylinder, water-cooled diesel engine producing 105 kW at 2,200 rpm and 550 Nm of torque. Its flat torque curve delivers a consistent hydraulic response across the full working range, making it well-suited to duty cycles that demand stable mid-range power rather than peak-only output. It shares its core architecture with the lower-output 4TN101FHT, same displacement, cylinder count, bore and stroke, and aftertreatment configuration, giving OEMs a consistent integration footprint across both power points of the platform.

The engine is certified to EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 Final. Aftertreatment combines a DOC, DPF, and SCR system shared across the 4TN101 range, supporting consistent emissions compliance regardless of output tier. Common rail direct injection and turbocharging with charge-air cooling improve fuel efficiency and reduce lube oil consumption, both of which lower the total cost of ownership over the equipment’s service life.

Typical applications include: mid-size excavators from 10 tonnes, backhoe loaders, soil compactors, wheel loaders, telehandlers, tractors, forestry machinery and road pavers.

The 4TN101FDT is supported by Yanmar’s Local Dressing programme in Italy, which accelerates prototype builds and early-stage OEM integration for small and mid-size equipment manufacturers.
