The Yanmar 4TN101FHT is a 3.8-litre, four-cylinder, water-cooled diesel engine producing 85 kW at 2,200 rpm and 445 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm, with 370 Nm available at 1,000 rpm for low-speed pulling power. It shares its core architecture with the higher-output 4TN101FDT, with the same displacement, cylinder count, bore and stroke, and aftertreatment configuration, giving OEMs a consistent integration footprint across both power points of the platform.

The engine is certified to EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 Final, with common rail direct injection, turbocharging with charge-air cooling, and cooled EGR. Aftertreatment combines a DOC, DPF, and SCR system shared across the 4TN101 range, supporting consistent emissions compliance regardless of output tier.

Typical applications include: mid-size excavators, backhoe loaders, soil compactors, wheel loaders, telehandlers, tractors, forestry machinery and road pavers. Equipment classes where the 85 kW output point suits lighter-duty configurations within the same machine platform as the 105 kW variant.

The 4TN101FHT is supported by Yanmar’s Local Dressing programme in Italy, which accelerates prototype builds and early-stage OEM integration for small and mid-size equipment manufacturers.
