YANMAR Technical Review

Editor's Postscript

November 1, 2018

Thank you for your continued readership. The seasons continue to come and go and we find ourselves deep into autumn. Talk of autumn conjures up thoughts of a time of hearty appetites, of reading books, and of sports. How have all of you spent your time this autumn?

This latest issue carries articles on agriculture, marine engines, construction machinery, energy management system, and simulation technology on diesel combustion. An article on agriculture is about the HL10,U leek harvester that was only just announced to the press this October.

The HL10,U is the new model in a range that was first launched in 2015, having been upgraded to be easier to use and more efficient. There are a lot of fields near where I live and while I often see tractors, rice transplanters, and combine harvesters at work, I can't say I have ever seen a leek harvester before. Being a machine that harvests the leeks that play such an important role as condiments, it is something in which I take a keen interest. Other articles describe some of the technologies and other initiatives for realizing our brand statement, “A Sustainable Future: Providing sustainable prosperity through technology”. I urge you to take a look.

As future issues will showcase more leading-edge technologies, the latest product information, and activities aimed at increasing globalization, I hope you will continue finding it to be worthwhile reading.
